Welcome to my practice. This is the first step!
Get to know me!
Absolutely! My name is Abby Orchard, and I am a fully qualified counsellor and an integrative psychotherapist in advanced training, currently completing my Master’s in Integrative Psychotherapy. I opened my practice in 2021, and since then my work has been defined by depth, presence, and a commitment to real emotional transformation.
My passion lies in helping people recover from the most complex and life-altering experiences, including sexual abuse, childhood trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, and personality-based struggles. These are areas I have extensive experience in, and I bring strength, creativity, poise, and grounded presence to this work.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and adapt them creatively so that therapy fits you rather than forcing you into a rigid model. Whether we are exploring trauma, relationships, identity, or long-standing emotional patterns, the work is always collaborative and deeply attuned.
I also support couples, helping partners understand their dynamics, rebuild trust, communicate with honesty, and create safer, more resilient relationships.
At the core of my practice is a simple, unwavering belief:
no matter how lost, hurt, or disconnected you feel — recovery is possible!
Everyone has potential waiting beneath the pain. My role is to help you find it, reclaim it, and rebuild a life that feels more alive, more connected, and more authentically yours.

What is a session like?
Sessions take place weekly and last for one hour. Together, we create a calm, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with clarity and support.
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models to suit your individual needs. I listen carefully, offer thoughtful reflections, and use clinically informed techniques to help you understand your inner world, process trauma safely, and work through patterns that may be impacting your life.
You can expect a steady, empathic, and non-judgemental environment. The work unfolds at a pace that feels safe and manageable, while still supporting meaningful insight, emotional recovery, and long-term personal growth..
How many sessions will I need?
There is no set limit to the number of sessions. While short-term work is possible, my practice specialises in long-term, open-ended therapy, which allows us to work at depth and create lasting, meaningful change.
Unlike structured approaches such as CBT, where you contract for a fixed number of appointments, our work does not follow a predetermined timeline. Instead, we review the process together as it unfolds, ensuring the pace and direction of therapy continue to support your needs and wellbeing.
When the time comes to think about ending therapy, this will be a collaborative decision. We will reflect together on the progress you’ve made, what feels complete, and what—if anything—still needs attention. From there, we shape a thoughtful, structured, and supportive ending that honours the work you’ve done and helps you move forward with confidence and clarity.
